We bought our house just over four years ago and it’s still far from how we want it. Our latest project has the bedroom, so I’ve created a wishlist for furniture and other bits that I want to get.
The previous owners seemed to love very dark stained wood, dado rails and textured wallpaper, which has made decorating even more of a challenge!
We’ve taken the dado rails down in most of the rooms we’ve decorated but as we wanted to decorate this room in a darker colour we decided to keep them to break up the walls slightly. It also saved us a lot of time and money.
I’ve been following Nicki Bamford-Bowes from Interior Design Masters and Pati Robins on Instagram for a while now and love the darker colours they use in their decor and just their general style.
Valspar paint from B&Q is usually my go-to, so I picked up a load of swatches and decided on a colour scheme.
I love the combo of darker blue with a mustard yellow and a millennial pink so picked three swatches that I thought really complimented each other. We decided on Midtown Magic for the walls and wanted to get accessories similar to the colours ‘Chasing Butterflies’ and ‘Vein of Quartz’ with hints of gold/brass.
Below is my ‘bedroom wishlist’. A selection of furniture, accessories and prints that I love!
Since writing this post we’ve already purchased the Made bed, John Lewis bed covers and also the mattress (although we decided to go with an Emma one instead). Our sleep has improved a lot and our room is already coming together!
As you can see, Teddy is very much enjoying the new bed too!
What do you think so far? Which are your favourite pieces on the wishlist?
